Community Activity and Integration

Community Connections

Community based activities may be combined with other program supports to improve skills that will lead to a more independent, involved life for the person receiving services. 

In-community supports may include:

• Making connections that build friendships
• Joining clubs or other organized group activities
• Becoming a volunteer at a community organization
• Participating in communal social gatherings
• Attending events

Services are based on each individual’s unique personal goals and designed to increase social experiences.  Interactions help teach/improve communication skills and increase independence in public settings.  Activities encourage building relationships in the community and the work place.
