2008 EMPLOYMENT SERVICES 

179 individuals were referred to Sycamore by Vocational Rehabilitation for employment support services.

Of these, 113 worked with a consultant to develop a plan for placement as Tier 1, or Supported Employment.  46 plans were completed for persons referred for Tier 2 or Job Placement.

Sycamore Consultants developed community based jobs for 105 individuals. 
59% of individuals referred for services acquired a job through Sycamore that lasted at least 30 days.
Of those placed in jobs, Sycamore successfully closed 84, or 80%.

Average percentage of persons retaining jobs for 90 days = 72%
Average percentage of persons retaining jobs for 6 months = 68%

Though both job retention numbers are lower than goals set at 75% for each, we feel the major contributor to the lack of longer job retention was the change in the national economy during the year being measured.  Consultants continue to develop strong placement plans and work with VR Counselors to obtain any job-site accommodations that would promote success.

Early in 2009, economic concerns were brought before State Administrators to assure that the new year would allow providers to continue to provide this service that produces benefits for the individuals served and the communities in which they live and work.
