2010 RESIDENTIAL SERVICES

Sycamore Services continues to provide supports and assistance to individuals to promote independence in the home.  Consumers are matched with others seeking residential services to develop room-mate situations that meet state requirements while providing positive relationships in the home or apartment.  Serivces may include the following:

~ Budgeting and financial training and assistance
~ Coordination of medical services
~ Medication administration
~ Health & safety training
~ Planning and preparing nutritious meals
~ Care and maintenance of personal belongings and residence
~ 24/7 On-call system

Sycamore develops individualized plans and goals that will promote an active and full life for each individual.  Regular meetings present frequent opportunities to make any changes or respond quickly to needs of the individuals.

In 2010, Sycamore provided 60 individuals with a total of 159,195 hours of residential support services.   

In 2010, we paired two gentlemen who had worked together for some time.  Each had been living with family members until parents passed away or became unable to provide daily assistance.  Knowing the families, Sycamore staff began making a plan and, when the time came, these two men were moved into the same home.  Now they work together to complete housekeeping chores, plan meals and participate in recreational activities.  They are finding independence as they build on their friendship.
