2008 was full of activity for Sycamore. The State of Indiana targeted specific groups of individuals that would be assigned Medicaid Waivers through the year. Persons who were 18-24 were quickly identified to receive services that would assist with the transition from school to work. Persons whose parents were 80 or older were also targeted so caregivers could be trained and in place when parents or family members were unable to care for them.
Beyond all the specific departmental goals to increase services, identify unmet needs, and extend current service areas, Sycamore wanted, and made efforts to identify and serve more adults and children in 2008 to assure that people who needed services would receive them. These efforts resulted in Sycamore serving a combined total of 1,136 adults and children in 2008.
Our goals remain the same for 2009 – to reach out and assist anyone facing daily challenges in a manner that will increase independence and enhance quality of life.
