Direct Support Professionals (DSP) / Community Consultant

Direct Support Professionals assist individuals with disabilities live self-directed lives, realizing dreams and enjoying the daily liberties and human rights others take for granted. DSPs assist consumers in developing daily living, self-help and social skills through individual-specific supports and community integration opportunities. Responsibilities vary based on the work setting.  Community Consultants provide direct supports and flexible assistance in community and residential settings.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent competency required.
  • 18 Years of age or older.
  • Experience working with persons with disabilities in the community preferred.
  • Excellent people and communication skills required.
  • Ability to work flexible/non-standard hours.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds; upper body leverage strength required.
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
  • Ability to keep accurate documentation.
  • Knowledge of community and community activities preferred.

Recruiter

Provide administrative support to the Director of HR/QA. Coordinate recruiting efforts throughout the agency. Carry out administrative and clerical functions of Recruitment. Provide support to all departments for Staffing Needs. Serve as customer liaison through telephone and electronic communication. Collect and distribute updated Open Requisition Status to all Directors. Produce reports of all filled positions, time-to-fill ratio’s, and all turnover. Assist COO with special projects as assigned.

Nurse Consultant – RN

The Nurse Consultant RN is responsible for supervising Nurse Consultant -LPN within the service delivery of Wellness Coordination as defined by the 5th amendment to the Indiana Code IN.0378.R02.05  as  defined  in  Appendix  C. The  Nurse  Consultant RN is responsible for supervising pre-service and in-service employee training sessions in CPR/First Aid and Wellness plans. The Nurse Consultant RN will supervise/provide Wellness Coordination services in an effort to monitor the health status, high risk plans and medication administration for assigned program participants.  They will act as a resource for all areas of the wellness plan to the entire service team.

BCBA – Program Manager

As a BCBA Program Manager you will be on the ground floor of developing a new program. The Program Manager/BCBA will be responsible for overseeing program development and staff training for their clients. You will assess, develop, and monitor behavior and treatment plan implementation based on principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. You will be involved in the development and purchasing of equipment and assessment materials and curriculum and data collection programs. You will manage a small caseload of children and lead a team of ABA Therapist and Registered Behavior Technicians who will be responsible for implementing the treatment plans you develop for each child. You will assist in hiring and training new BCBAs, Registered Behavior Technicians and supplemental staff.

Behavioral Consultant

Works in collaboration with other members of the treatment team, designs and directs the implementation of a behavior intervention plan which is individualized to each individual as well as to the family needs and consumer’s daily activities. The Behavioral Consultant identifies behavioral goals and intervention techniques and recommends behavioral change methods. Provides staff training and designs data collection formats. Serves as a resource to staff, parents and providers. Attends quarterly and annual meetings as related to consumers needs.

Job Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in: Clinical Psychology, school psychology or another applied health service area of
    psychology; Special Education; Social Work or Counseling
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist; licensed clinical social worker or licensed mental health
    counselor
  • Knowledge and ability to demonstrate coursework in or 5 years of experience in devising, implementing
    And monitoring behavior support plans.
  • Demonstration of excellent oral and written skills.

Recreational Therapist

Works in collaboration with other members of the IST, designs and implements a recreational intervention plan which is tailored to each individual and his/her daily activities. Utilizing the APIE standards, the Therapist will consider input from other IST members as well as the individual served, conduct a standardized assessment and develop a therapeutic program targeted towards each individual’s needs and identified goals. The Therapist will provide treatment services and recreation activities for individuals using a variety of techniques in an effort to improve and maintain the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of their clients so that they can enjoy greater independence. Techniques can include arts and crafts, sports, games, dance and movement, drama, music, and community outings. The Therapist will document the consumer’s progress during activities. Therapists will uphold and promote the agency’s mission statement.

Must possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with a major in Therapeutic Recreation or a major in recreation or leisure with an option in Therapeutic Recreation; or Bachelor’s degree or higher in any major with a minimum of five years full-time paid work experience in Therapeutic Recreation services; or Bachelor’s degree or higher in any major with a minimum of one year of full-time paid work experience in Therapeutic Recreation services under the supervision of a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS).
  • Have a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) credential by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC)
  • Minimum of 1 years experience working with persons with disabilities required.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach others.
  • Knowledgeable in the development of Individual Service Plans. Must demonstrate sound understanding of Community Integration, and the ability to work effectively within human service systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work non-standard/flexible schedule
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds; upper body leverage strength required.

Van Driver

Transport individuals as assigned, providing assistance as necessary. At all times, ensure the safe operation of the vehicle, including safe boarding and unloading of passengers. Drivers must have the ability to complete daily pre-trip inspection and accurately complete service logs. Good driving record, valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a For Hire Endorsement on your license required.
