The Indiana Governor’s Council for People with Disabilities is proud to announce our 2019 Indiana Conference on Disability which will be held November 17-19 at the Indianapolis Downtown Marriott. Please note the new location of our conference.

This premiere event brings together administrators, educators, service providers, health professionals, parents, family members, youth and adults with disabilities, and advocates from throughout Indiana to share experiences, network, and learn the latest in disability-related policies and practices.

HEAR disability and civil rights pioneer, Judy Heumann, talk about how she has spent her life challenging assumptions about people with disabilities and advocating for equal rights, including leading the historic “504 Sit-in” which was instrumental in ushering in a new era of civil rights for people with disabilities.

LISTEN to internationally recognized disability advocate, Sara Minkara, discuss how we should be blind to the labels that society gives us and live a life of impact.

LEARN from Xian Horn and her vision to expand the world’s concept and representation of beauty which celebrates new faces and new bodies.
