Children's Services Supporting Children, Strengthening our Community, Securing the Future First Steps at Sycamore Services At Sycamore Services, our Children’s Services department is dedicated to helping children and their families thrive. Through Indiana’s First Steps program, we provide early intervention therapies tailored to each child’s unique needs, focusing on reducing developmental delays and enhancing future success in school and life. Eligibility for First Steps: Developmental Delay: The child is experiencing developmental delays. Diagnosed Condition: The child has a condition likely to cause developmental delays. At-Risk: The child is at risk of developing delays without early intervention. Children from birth to age 3 may be eligible. Referrals can be made by doctors, hospitals, social service agencies, or directly by parents/guardians by calling (317) 257-2229. Our Therapies Include: Speech Language Pathology Physical Therapy Developmental Therapy Occupational Therapy Therapies are personalized, regularly reviewed, and delivered in the child’s home or another suitable environment to ensure the best outcomes. Start your journey toward growth and independence today! Get Started with ABA Contact the ABA Center for diagnostics or services. The first step is to reach out to our team by calling 317-745-4715 or by downloading and filling out the Initial Intake Form HERE. Send us the Form Once completed, upload the form below and submit it to us. We’ll then contact you to discuss your child’s needs and confirm their eligibility for ABA therapy (upload below). Intake & Basic Information Our Clinical Director and team will assist with verifying documentation and insurance, then help schedule your child’s assessment. Before the assessment, you’ll complete a clinical form to provide the BCBA with key information about your family and child. Initial Assesement Our Certified BCBAs will conduct a thorough assessment of your child and start building rapport. The process includes two parts: a parent/caregiver interview and an in-person evaluation with your child to assess their current skills and areas for improvement. Customized Plan of Care and Dosage of Services After assessing your child’s needs, the BCBA will determine the appropriate therapy and create a personalized treatment plan. This plan, along with recommended hours, will be submitted to your insurance for approval. ABA Therapy Begins Once we have received approval from your insurance company, the Clinical Director will contact you to schedule a starts date of services and an appropriate schedule. Your child will then begin their ABA therapy plan. Behavior Management At Sycamore Services, our Behavior Support Services are designed to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving success in their community, school, or work environments. We aim to help participants reach their full potential by addressing and replacing behaviors that limit their opportunities with positive actions that enhance their success. Our Services Include: Thorough Behavior Assessment: Conducting a comprehensive analysis to identify and understand problem behaviors. Behavior Support Plan (BSP) Development: Creating tailored plans that address target behaviors and suggest positive replacement behaviors. Direct Work with Consumers: Implementing BSP goals through hands-on support. Training for Staff and Caregivers: Educating those who work with our consumers to ensure effective implementation of BSP goals. Direct Observations: Monitoring progress and ensuring adherence to BSP goals. Data Tracking Systems: Collecting and analyzing data on target and replacement behaviors. Psychiatric Coordination: Providing information to psychiatrists and attending appointments (when applicable) to evaluate medication effectiveness. Team Participation: Engaging in meetings and contributing as part of the consumer’s support team. Quarterly Behavior Reports: Creating detailed reports on progress towards BSP goals.
